This sprint I spent about 9.5 hours on our Kendo Gakko project. I worked on finishing up User Device Detection, and enabling my teammate to utilize the same detection to change the layout of the lander page (mobile vs desktop). This was a very basic addition and then it was passed on to my teammate.
I also worked on creating the final model for the training dummy. I completed the model, the UV maps, and textured it. I designed the model in a way so we can easily change the placement of the wooden pegs sticking out, as the placement of the pegs has not been finalized.
Training Dummy Poor Response Great Response
The final piece that I worked on this week was creating the animated response graphics for when the user hits the different parts of the Training Dummy. If the user hits the wrong part of the dummy the "Poor" response will be played, and if the user hits the correct part of the dummy the "Great" response will be played.
I also spent time on the weekend reviewing PRs from other teammates.
The main challenge for this sprint was the amount of work that needed to be done, this was due to the previous sprint's work being largely neglected for other assignments. Because of external factors during this current sprint such as other class work, it was difficult to work on the project outside of the time in class.
This coming sprint I will be focusing on implementing the physical menu in VR. We will add physical objects that correspond to different menu options, and the user will have to hit them with the kendo sword to select that option.
