Braeden Timlin: Milestone 3

Writer: Braeden TimlinBraeden Timlin

This sprint I focused on getting physics and collision working with Proxy geometry. With this implementation I was able to make geometry that follows standard gravity rules, as well as collision with other physics objects.

I also reviewed a small PR that Christa made to add the Alpha Release Proxy Geometry.

I spent about 4 hours on the project this sprint. Physics Test:

The biggest challenge was getting the physics addon installed and functioning. The documentation for the addon misinformed me about add a 'require("aframe-physics-system")' tag in the app.js file. Adding this to the app.js file causes the application not to run as it finds a missing declaration. The actual installation was simple, but troubleshooting the issues with the installation instructions took a lot of time.

This sprint outlines the majority if our features for the alpha build of our application, as we are planning to have our Alpha and Beta builds of our application completed 1 sprint prior to the delivery date for each of them. This allows us to have an extra sprint if there are issues with the implementation of the stories.

We were unable to implement the user interacting with objects in the environment this sprint, therefore we will prioritize that story before the next sprint's dev work. After that we will be focusing on device detection (mobile vs desktop/VR), user interaction with objects such as hitting lanterns with the sword, and the back-end infrastructure to send information between the mobile device and the desktop/VR device.
